Transport and Logistics for Heavy Generators
Complete logistics coordination for industrial generators up to 100 MVA, turbogenerators and rotors. Certified transport, cranes up to 60 tons, customs clearance, temporary storage and high-voltage packaging under ISO 9001:2015. No major service project moves forward without logistics resolved — we plan it from the quotation stage.

What our logistics service covers
We design each movement from the client's site to the workshop and back. Routes, permits, road clearance, live loads, insurance, customs calendars and crane availability are calculated and executed with certified providers under long-standing relationships.
- Transport of generators up to 100 MVA and rotors up to 80 tons
- Coordination of hydraulic cranes up to 60 tons at the client's facility
- Customs clearance for imports and exports with certified customs agents
- Temporary storage at the in-house Tlajomulco workshop under cover and monitoring
- High-voltage packaging and crating for sensitive electrical components
- International logistics across Central America with multi-country customs coordination
- INCOTERMS handling, bills of lading and all-risk insurance documentation
- Scheduled outage coordination with the client to minimize plant downtime
When to apply it
Scenarios where specialized logistics is required
Logistics managers and EPCs running cross-border projects know that transport is rarely the cheapest line item — but it is the line item that derails entire programs when it fails. We size it accordingly.
- Major shop overhaul that requires moving the generator from site to workshop
- Cross-border project with customs, INCOTERMS and bonded logistics requirements
- Oversize cargo that exceeds standard road clearance — escorts and permits required
- Remote site with limited road access — route planning and equipment staging
- EPC project bringing OEM parts from Europe, the United States or Asia
- Emergency mobilization of a spare unit to restore generation on a critical asset
Standards and certifications
Standards and documentation we apply
Logistics is documented under ISO 9001:2015 with traceability per shipment. International movements follow INCOTERMS 2020; domestic oversize movements follow SCT permit requirements. All-risk transport insurance is contracted for each shipment.
- ISO 9001:2015 — Quality management system for logistics traceability
- INCOTERMS 2020 — Trade terms for international shipments
- SCT permits — Federal oversize road clearance in Mexico
- All-risk transport insurance under documented coverage per shipment
- Customs documentation — bonded entries, temporary import permits
- Packaging standards for high-voltage and rotating electrical equipment

Field services on-site
When transport to the workshop is not viable, we execute on-site. Logistics coordinates crane staging and equipment mobilization to the plant.

Rehabilitation and life extension
Rehabilitation projects routinely require heavy transport of stator, rotor and bearing housings. Logistics is scoped at quotation, not as a project change order.

Incidents in transit
End-to-end coordination: rotor extraction at the client site with a 60-ton crane, certified transport to the Tlajomulco workshop, temporary storage during maintenance, packaging for the return movement and on-site reassembly with grid synchronization. Zero logistics incidents across the entire project under ISO 9001:2015 traceability.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions — Transport and logistics
Preguntas que recibimos con frecuencia. ¿No encuentras la tuya? Escríbenos a ventas@temisa.mx.
Do you coordinate special permits for oversize cargo such as SCT and escort permits?
Yes. For generators and rotors that exceed standard road clearance we coordinate SCT permits, escorts where applicable, regulated overnight stops and alternate routes. It is part of the project schedule from the quotation stage — not a change order during execution.
Do you operate cranes in-house or coordinate them?
We coordinate with a network of certified crane operators under long-term agreements. Hydraulic cranes up to 60 tons are available in the central and Bajío regions of Mexico. For larger cargo we coordinate international cranes with advanced scheduling.
Do you manage customs clearance for imports and exports?
Yes. For cross-border projects with Central America and for services that require parts from Europe, the United States or Asia we coordinate with certified customs agents — clearance, duties, bonds and INCOTERMS handling.
Can you temporarily store a generator during shop maintenance?
Yes. The Tlajomulco workshop has covered, monitored storage areas. Storage insurance coverage is agreed within the service contract. Typical duration is the project span — 8 to 22 weeks depending on scope.
How do you guarantee equipment integrity during transport?
High-voltage packaging with insulating materials, anti-vibration supports, humidity covers and documented photographic inspection at load and unload. All-risk transport insurance and ISO 9001:2015 traceability with a named responsible engineer per shipment.
